Orange is full of talented people with exciting ideas about how to make the city a better place! Do you have an idea that will bring people together, get to know your neighbors better, and make meaningful change in your community? Read on!

What Are Neighborhood Project Grants?

Neighborhood Project Grants support resident-led projects impacting the Valley Arts District and Heart of Orange neighborhoods and their residents. Projects created to build community, cultivate neighborhood leadership, expand activities for youth, promote wellness and health, and to celebrate the diversity of people living in this city are all eligible for grants.

How Does It Work?

We want the process to be as easy as possible. Here’s how it works:

  1. Attend an information session: Information sessions are optional and open to anyone looking to get more information about the grants or receive assistance with the application process.

  2. Fill out an application: Applications can be filled out in print or online, and are available in English, Spanish, and Creole. Applications are reviewed by a team made up of neighborhood residents and stakeholders.

  3. Attend orientation: Once your application is approved, you will attend an orientation to give you and your project team more information about execution and reporting — and you can meet the people working behind the scenes to make the grants happen.

  4. Complete your project: You and your team work your magic and bring your ideas to life in the neighborhood!

  5. Submit a final report: All grantees submit a final report documenting and celebrating their amazing work.

Spring 2019 application cycle opens in March. More information and link to the application is available at the HANDS website.
