Open Orange 2017 is a juried exhibition of contemporary art from NJ and NYC metropolitan area artists working in two-dimensional media.
The exhibition is shown in the ValleyArts Community Gallery in the Valley Arts District, and celebrates this growing artist community. Open Orange is a project of the ValleyArts Visual Arts Advisory Committee and is chaired by Jeremy Moss, who is the Deputy Director of ValleyArts. Open Orange was founded by Nigel Freeman and Jeremy Moss.
The nationally prominent jurors are:
Diedre Harris-Kelley: co-director and curatorial lead of the Romare Beardon Foundation and an accomplished artist.
Nigel Freeman: director of African-American Fine Art at Swann Auction Galleries, advisory board member of the Hampton University Museum in Virginia, and print appraiser on the PBS show, Antiques Roadshow.
Caro Kalb-Marr curator and owner of Gallery Ovo. Daughter of an accomplished artist, Kalb-Marr has spent her whole life in the art world.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY GALLERY
The ValleyArts Community Gallery, located at 400 S.Jefferson Street in Orange, is a beautiful new space that opened in 2017 as a signature visual gallery space for ValleyArts and its artists. The gallery hosts an array of exhibitions, shows, and events throughout the year.
